Once upon a time, there was a rivalry. It was more of a one-sided rivalry, but none the less, a rivalry.

was to play

Big Deal for the Aggies. We hadn't beaten the Cougs since.....oh I don't know when, but it was a heck of a long time. We went all-out for this event.
The night before the game, my friends and I slept out on the Quad (big grassy area by Old Main) in order to get wrist bands that would get us into the game early so as to get good seating. I don't think I've ever been so cold in my entire life. But, it ended up being worth it.
Bright-eyed and Bushy tailed, we (plus random kid) were ready to get our Aggie on. We were all so excited, and our fingers were crossed for an Aggie VICTORY!
The Stampede was very intense. We all made our way to Romney Stadium for some tail-gaiting and some good seats.
We saw some PRESH couples.
But once we got there, we realized how stifling hot it was. We were totally unprepared: we didn't bring water, we had hot (in both ways) clothing on, and we weren't mentally prepared to endure the 3 hour wait in the random heat.
Luckily enough, we found some shade.
Ahhhhhh! Look at all of that good seating! Fresh for the picking.
Finally, Jordan, Mel Duffy, Lexi, and Allie got to the game.
(I should be considered a Good Samaritan for saving them seats with my body.)
We were TOATS excited!!
Lexi, Allie, Mel Ross
Jordan, Amelia, Daryn
Mel Duff
STILL ECSTATIC!
The sun was blazing.
Just look at Jordan--her face says it all.
So...The game began!! It was an amazing experience from the start! Even though the sun was bothersome, we enjoyed the Aggies slaughtering the Cougars. But, I mean, how could we not?? Especially when we had shirts like these:
Anyway, the game went on.
Cute pictures were taken:
me and dd enjoying ourselves
mel, lexi, allie, jo, and me
oh...and 2 people that wanted to be coola than us.
they were.
Some pictures of the game were taken:
The USU and BYU Marching Bands performing together at half time.
What good sports.
gooooooooo Aggies!!!!
Hey look! It's Brian Orr! (#88)
I know him!
Way to get some, gents.
This is a REALLY artsy-fartsy shot that Jordan took.
I can't figure out how to make it rotate to be the right way, so you'll have to crank your neck a bit.
It's worth it.
Then, as the game wore on, we began to get...dare i say....bored.
That tends to happen because we all suffer from a disease:
ADD.
This is what Jordan would do after every touchdown. I was standing right next to her, so I couldn't get the full-body picture.
But, you get the idea.
Melly and Lexi
*Okay. These next two pictures need some explanation.*
Jordan and Mel have an on-going battle. Well, it's actually more of Mel getting annoyed every time Jordan does her "Ferbie" voice. Yes, Jordan has a Ferbie voice. And it's as creepy and weird as it sounds (I found out I could do it too...no surprise there).
The fights usually go something like this:
"FEEEERRRRRRBBIIIIIIEEEEEEE!!!!!!!"
Pure Hatred.
Time wore on. Our boredom increased.
UNTIL...
It was the 4th quarter, the game was growing in intensity...the Aggies were KICKING butt, and the Cougar on the noose** was being thrashed around ever so vigorously. The HURD was going wild, so we all stood up on the bleachers and yelled our hearts out.
In the final minutes of the game, anyone could see that an Aggie victory was in the bag.
So, the crowd was allowed on the field to
STORM.
It was exhilarating.
I've never been so scared of being squished in my entire life.
The Stampede.
And my boy Kerwin Williams.
Nice dreads, eh?
Me and Jo about to be squished.
And yet, we are loving it.
The girls!
Final Score!!!
GO AGGIES! GO AGGIES! HEY! HEY! HEY!
This was such a fun game!
There are so many memories.
I am proud to be an Aggie.
I am proud that we won our game against the Y.
I am proud to have such great friends.
I am proud to say I heart life.
I am proud to say, yes mom, I have been brushing my teeth.
**some fans took a "simba" stuffed animal, put a BYU jersey on it, hung it from a huge pole by a piece of rope around its neck...thus, a Cougar on a noose. Brilliant.
