God Bless America

I just need to take a minute and say, "God Bless America."
We live in such an amazing country. Of course we have our problems, but who doesn't? We live in a country where we (most people) don't have to worry about where to get water, where to sleep, deadly diseases; we can go to college, be what WE WANT TO BE, and marry who we love, and make our lives what we want them to be. There are so many scary things that happen, but we live in such a strong country, that our worries can be calmed.
Osama Bin Laden is dead. President Obama just gave one of the most eloquent, charismatic speeches I've ever heard, and I have faith. I am scared out of my mind--there are going to be many untold fears in the coming years, but, I have hope.

I am so thankful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I KNOW that God is over all. I KNOW that our nation is under Him, and He is there to help in a time of need. We have been told, in the scriptures, what we need to do in order to withstand the evils of the world, and what evils will befall us. I know that the United States will one day fall, but I know that God will be there to pull us through.

I keep thinking to myself, "The second coming is SO near." And it is. It is nearer than we realize. By near, I mean decades. But that, in God's time, is a few minutes away. It could be sooner. It could be later. It's coming. "It's Five To." A seminary teacher at my high school used to say, "Remember, you need to live your life like it's five minutes to the second coming. It's only five minutes away...you need to be worthy to be taken back home to live with God and to be resurrected at any second." I think that is so scary, but I think it's amazing at the same time. Comforting, almost. I know what I need to do in order be worthy. It's all written out for me, it's talked about every time I go to church, listen to General Conference, or even pray for answers to questions I have.

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for sending to earth at this time. I'm here for a reason, and I'm slowly but surely figuring out what reason is. It's been a rough but joyous road, and I am getting better at constantly developing my relationship with God and Jesus Christ. I am so blessed to live in Logan, and have the AMAZING and WONDERFUL friends that I do. I would be lost in this big, wide college world without them. They have blessed my life in countless ways, and I have been able to develop a lasting bond with them because the Gospel comes so easily to us.

Wow, this turned into a testimony, but I think I needed to write it out. Clear my head. Get things in order.

If anyone reads this whole thing, I'll be impressed.

God Bless America!
May peace be with us all!
