glad tidings of great joy

Dear Diary,
This weekend has been very good.
On Friday, I went out to dinner with my friends, and we had a great time. We chatted about this video:

It is quite the hot topic around campus, and it's gotten the girls in our apartment rather riled up. It causes one to question every relationship one has had with the opposite sex. Watch it, and you'll see--if you already haven't.

Saturday, I had rehearsal in the morning, and it was fun! I think Slipper and the Rose is going to be very fun! Then I went home for the afternoon. Ahhh salt lake city. What a place. I miss it so very much, although I love my life up in Logan a lot, too.
Anyway, when I got home, I saw this waiting for me:

What is it? Why, it's a letter! A letter from whom? My best friend, Elder Jordan Thomas King! I literally jumped for joy when I saw this sitting on my dining room table. What I found on the inside only made me happier! Jordan knows me SO WELL, its disgusting. But it's not disgusting because I love it. Here are a few quotes from Elder King:
  • First off, he called me, "Mills". I love that!
  • "Haha Amelia, your boy life...Oh dear me. Blankety Blank (boy) sounds like he kind wants you for Plan B, which is stupid and a waste of your time. Blankety Blank (girl that boy used to date)? Booooooooooooooo. We both know that there are some crucial brain cells missing there, Mills. From both of them. Just...Tenga Cuidado (Be careful). You get really eager about dating. I think I could describe it in scripture terms as "over-zealous." LOL. I'm such a scripture nerd right now. I hope I didn't offend you, but just from what I know about you, just take it easy :) Be patient. The right guy will one day meander (Pay Attention: Meander into your life, not smash down the door) into your life and things will work out. Just be patient my friend! Enjoy the single life!"
    • *He knows me too well...he took the words right out of my mouth. (well the words I didn't want to tell myself.) Also, I've been praying to be calm and collected about this boy situation, and he gave me answers to those prayers that I've been receiving myself.*
  • "You know how people will say how much a missionary changes in his mission? It's true. I was going to write that i'm just the same old Jordan, but that's not true. I know I've already changed, and I'm not even 6 months into the mission. It really is crazy Amelia. The Lord does amazing things to those who will only decide to follow him and have him the priority in life. He also works miracles through his servants, whether they realize it at the time or not. :)"
Jordan is just one of the amazing friends I have out on a mission that are making a difference in peoples' lives and helping bring them to the Gospel. I am constantly amazed at the wonderful light the Spirit of God brings into peoples' hearts.

After reading that amazing letter, I was able to go to a play at the Desert Star Theater. My friends Nick and Todd were in it--I loved it! If you get a chance, go see it! It's a spoof of "It's A Wonderful Life." I loved seeing those two, and had a great time!

Sunday rolled around, and I left SLC and came back up to L-town.
We had our roommate gift exchange, and Allie gave me the best presents anyone could ask for!
A beautiful framed picture of my gorgeous best friends and roommates!

A Disney Songbook!

I couldn't have asked for anything more!
Thanks Al for the amazing gifts!
I love spending time with the girls in the picture above, and tonight was very wonderful.

So, this week, I have finals. Do I care?

NOPE.

I don't give two craps. I'll study tomorrow, and then I'll take my two finals on Tuesday, and then I'LL BE HOME! YESSSSSSSSS!!!
I can't wait to start all my Holiday Festivities, and I am excited to share them with those I love!
