one of those days

Have you ever just had...one of those days?

You know what I'm talking about.

The kind of days that just....suck. 

They suck. Suck all the fun, life, joy, happiness...basically everything out of you.

*light bulb* 

THEY'RE LIKE DEMENTORS!

alright. create a metaphor with me:

this is me: 

paralyzed with fear.

the dementors are coming. 

to eat my soul.

everything starts getting cold. 

i can't think about anything positive.

the only think i can do is think about everything that makes me sad:

missing my family, missing my best friends, the fact that finals are a week away, the fact that i have no voice to sing with, or the fact that it's gloomy weather (and i just want it to be merry christmas land all the time), etc...you get the picture.

and then......

BOOOOOM

the car door slides open (or dorm room door) and i see...the hand of a dementor.

creeping in to take all my joy away.

that's what's been happening to me. i've just been in a funk.

seasonal depression?

here's how a recent conversation with my best friend went down:

me: there's something wrong with me.

paige: no, there's nothing wrong with you.

me: no, but there really really is something wrong.

paige: amelia, you're being dumb. you'll be fine. you're in a funk, and you need to buck up and get over it.

me: but...there really is something wrong with me.

paige: *annoyance*

yeah.

my life is awesome.

BUT.

there is always light to look to.

i will not be defeated.

those dementors don't know what's coming to them.

this funk will be gotten rid of.

(woah. i'm in college people, i can use correct grammar. maybe.)

YEAH. that's right. you flee.

you run away and never return.

i don't need you bringing me down.

i'm determined to be happy.
